An accomplished technology executive and inventor, Zia Shlaimoun has built a career across product development, computing, energy-saving systems, and business leadership. He studied computers and communications at the University of Greenwich, where he completed a four-year sandwich course that included one year of industry experience. Zia Shlaimoun’s earlier education included technology studies at Harrow College of Higher Education and ordinary and advanced level subjects at Drayton Manor High School in London.

Mr. Shlaimoun worked as an intern with IBM during his university studies before becoming an R&D engineer at IBM Hursley, where he contributed to technology and product development projects. He later worked as a product engineer at Data Dynamics, where he handled development, maintenance, marketing, and sales support for the company’s multiuser micro solution. Mr. Shlaimoun also served as co-owner and technical director of Jilutech Systems, a UK distributor of PCs and PC add-on products.

From 1993 to 2010, Mr. Shlaimoun served as CEO of Atto Electric, where he developed, sold, and supported energy-saving solutions for large manufacturing companies. His work included patenting an energy-saving technology, building a product around it, selling it internationally, and licensing the patent to a large drive manufacturer. Mr. Shlaimoun has also received innovation-related awards, holds several patents, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
